Pondering...

I haven't blogged for ages so thought id pop in and ponder a thing or 2...

I will, hopefully, be able to spend more time in my "studio" this weekend and finish sorting it all out. You know what its like, you find something you'd forgotten you had, or loved and lost so you just gotta have a play. That's what I have been doing, but nothing to show for it, but then that's the fun of playing isn't it! Might get some more pics up too.

I manage my first Tilda card this week, which I will post later, as I haven't got the image at work. I'm not too happy with it, I need to practise my water colour technique (or lack of it) more.

Just been talking to one of the girls here at work. She asked the question, how can you call someone you've never met in real life a friend? Well, Ive never met my grand dad, but still call him grand dad...lol but I got to thinking...why do we class our online friends as friends, when we probably wouldn't know them if they passed us in the street..sad fact that! To me, a friend is someone you firstly connect with through a common interest, be it the street you live, the school you attend, the sport you play..well me and my online pals all have a common interest, we firstly have our computers, the basis for these friendships, from there we look at what interests us most amongst the gazillions of networks on the WWW , whatever that might be from Apples to Zeppelin's. I found this definition if computer networks, which is something we all belong to

Computer networks offer not only great technical and information resources, they also provide a uniquely effective vehicle for making contact with people who share common interests. They are effective because they provide a fast and efficient means of transmission, and also because they carry tens of thousands of ongoing discussion lists and newsgroups. These give groups of people with a common interest the opportunity f or easy exchange of ideas and news on their subject of interest, and may also generate further one-to-one dialogues between like-minded individuals. Networks facilitate the existence of virtual communities united by common interests, irrespective of location, institutional rank, or even social skills.

So this is where the friendship starts and it evolves when we start confiding, sharing jokes, family stories, hopes, dreams, heartache, medical problems, and so on...

then I looked up the definition of friend

friend (frĕnd) n.
A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
A person whom one knows; an acquaintance.
A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; a comrade.
One who supports, sympathizes with, or patronizes a group, cause, or movement:

So it doesn't matter if we've never met...you are my friends, because you are interested enough in me as a person to read this! NOW she can see where I'm coming from!

Big Reveal

Hello out there in blog land...are you ready?? IT is almost ready!! One more coat of paint...yayyyyyyyyy. here you go then, piccies from Saturday and Sunday!!

This is the view as you walk in. Its Saturday evening and the base coat is going on. On the left is my workspace, ahead of you shelving for folders and scrap booking papers all 3 sizes

This is where I will be stamping and messing about so it will have a glass top for easy cleaning

Workstation on left and you can just see the shelves in the corner for keeping at hand all those bits that clutter the desk.. you can just see at the bottom right of the shelves a holder for my score board and scoring tool!

see the space in the corner? There's a lid, that lifts off and inside a bin for all the paper which will go to recycling. No wasted space here!! The bottom shelves for magazines (I have LOADS!) above that space for peel offs my ever growing collection of prima flowers and the shelf above for all my (as yet empty) scrap books!

My messy space showing a large 2 shelved cupboard for hiding bits...doors are yet to go on well they are yet to be made...lol

shelf above "messy" space" for embossing powder, inks, heat gun and other stuff

shelves to the right of messy bit where I will keep my cuttlebug and other stuff like that, brads, brads and more brads (stored in nicely decoratively altered coffee jars!)

pull out trays for storing stamps...small holes to use to pull them out...neat idea huh?
big cupboard below.

These are the shelves on the left of my workspace. There a corkboard just adjacent to this for my reminders!

Lots of paint!

Printer shelve above and space for my lovely pink TV underneath, the hole?? Thats for storing rolls of paper and also has a lid (with knobs on) Ill have to move the TV slightly when I want to get to it, but do I look bovvered??

All painted and looking A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!

So...there it is. I am actually overwhelmed and so proud of Mark and the amount of work he has put into it...and he gets the house back....lol. I haven't told him yet that I may take up ice sculpting in the kitchen!!

So Mark when you read this...thank you, thank you THANK YOU. I love you XX You're the best!! You are so clever!! XXX
