And so my journey begins..

Just another couple of days at work and I am off to start my new life in Farnborough, and boy am I scared.

I am leaving behind a lot of things that I have accumulated over the last 9 years but I am taking with me a lot of love that I have found over the last 9 years. I am very scared and feel very vulnerable right now, but hey Ive started all over before and I can do it again. I am at a good place in my life, neither too young or too old. I have a new found confidence which I had buried away because I put all my confidence in my marriage and my life in this place. My heart is heavy, yet excited, sad, but thankful that my marriage, while it lasted, was although not as happy as I thought, a good one. We had a great time, met some great people and saw some amazing things on our journey together, but now we have to part and move on, and I say to you Mark...I had the time of my life! I helped to raise 3 amazing children, and I hope they find a safe and happy path in their lives too, and I say to you 3...never forget where and who I am.

And so it begins, the first days of the rest of my life...who knows what Ill be writing tomorrow...:)

Biggest Stash Sale Ever!!

Due to the breakdown of my marriage, I am having to sell all of my craft stuff so I can move on and make a new life for myself. Over the next couple of weeks everything I own will be going on ebay from pens to cricuts. Id you want a bargain, please go and look. My ebay seller id is reeve1206.

Gutted!!

Well things happen in threes they say and three horrible things have happened, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday!! So that's it no more!!

Monday I found out I was being made redundant. Three years with the company and out on the scrap heap..but refuse to get down and want to make something positive out of it.  Firstly, economising, well we knew for ages we would have to do it anyway so this is the sharp short shock we need.  Mark is so very supportive and I know we will get through this together.  Secondly, improve my crafting.  OK A lot of my new found spare time will be devoted to job hunting, butrather than sit and wallow I will try and improve my craft work.  Thirdly, give up smoking and improve my overall health. So there you have it.  I wont go into the oether things because they concern other people, but no one is hurt and no one died, and will work themselves out, I just didnt need that on top!

So...keep your fingers and toes crossed for us that we make it through..Thanks for listening XX (Food parcels gratefully accepted!)

Funky fairy challenge

Thought I would enter this for funky fairies challenge which this week is blue.  The blue swirl paper is from funky fairy as is the alpha spelling mum.  Image is coloured in copics.  Not very happy with the way it looks in the picture, the flowers look bluer in rl coloured them in with copics. Added a bit of bling...cos I can!!

Made this card for my niece whose birthday is on Thursday - used my copics - the few that I have at the moment!! the card is a lovely very small tartany purply colour with a matching vellum over the top finished of with a few embellies and an organza ribbon.

Im exhausted!

Just about finished the place names now just got some gems to stick on for that blingy effect! Ive still got loads of cards to make plus some images to stamp for folk plus I need to finish niece's scrapbook for her birthday on Thursday!!! Then, last night my lovely son rang to say can we feed him his GF and her 2 kiddies Sunday dinner today??? arrrrrggggghhhhhhhhh nothing like short notice...lol but so happy he is coming.   Ive also been doing slideshows, leaving comments and trying to organise things and Shell's and my challenge blog   that in itself feels like a full time job but I love it and am meeting some very lovely people along the way. So now...brekkie, blinging, tidy up and organise dinner then I can concentrate on my cards and stuff Im afraid they might just be sticking things on a piece of card type cards..LOL  hey ho that'll teach me for procrastinating.  Hope your Sundays are special XX

The book in me...

they say we all have a book inside us so I have decided to try and write one! I have the title sorted out.."Living with M.E.N. - what's your type"Quite catchy huh? For those of you who dont know me, I have an incurable disease (my doctors words...definately not mine) which is known as Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia, I am type 1. So far I think I have been lucky, only had to have my parathyroid glands removed, although "multiple" tumours have been found on and in my pancreas so watching and waiting to see what, if anything happens. My son who has not been lucky has had half of his pancreas removed as a result (and boy do I feel guilty...most folk give their kids a car, I give mine a syndrome!)

Anyway, as its a very rare syndrome, bit like rocking horse poo, I decided that I would try and write an informative, yet slightly tongue in cheek about it. Im posting this here as I think Id like a bit of encouragement...and where else could I get it??

My first attempt with copics!

Im quite pleased with it although it does like shes been sweating heavily under the arms...lol I guess I should have written down the colours I used for future reference. Now I just have to do something with it!

I definately NEED more colours so have my wish list ready. The image is from a download from charmed cards and craft Girls About Town. I love digi images can you can resize, flip and merge onto different backgrounds etc very versatile and so GREEN

I would really like your feedback on this good or bad. I need to boost my confidence levels A LOT

The theme this week is dots and ribbons so I have used a paper from their recent Love Train giveaway which I think is a bit dotty!! Also a ribbon attached to the card.  The image is watercoloured.  I really wish I could take better pictures!! LOL

Playing again

Was sent some bella images today so had a play with prismas and chalks. Something not right but cant put my finger on it so be grateful for any comments - good or bad...LOL.  I think the big problem is that I cut the image out and I was using Marks knife cos I cant find mine - i edged the image in blue 1. To hide the white paper and 2. to try and give it a bit of depth...Ive seen it done on loads of blogs but dont think Ive quite got the hang of it!!

Thought Id do another card.

I thought (if its allowed of course) that I would enter another card into the Pollycraft Mondat Challenge.  It meets the criteria a) ribbon b) flowers (on backing paper) and c) backing paper from pollycraft.  Its a SU image stamped in white then brushed with chalks.  I wanted a really soft effect so hope I have achieved it  Unfortunately it didnt photo to clearly but home you get the general idea!

Another challenge, Im getting braver!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE The designs at pollycraft and have purchased a couple of digi downloads from them.  Paula (great name!) is very talented and does a gorgeous range of downloads and stamps!  Anyway, there is a fornightly Monday challenge and I decided to enter this week's.

The criteria is flowers and ribbons, you can see the flowers but the ribbon is wrapped around the "steps"  a lovely organza ribbon with a floral design which I found in my stash.  The backing paper is from the strawberry and lime collection of doodle dreams.  I have coloured some of the images on the background with prismas to bring in the colours of the cute couple, part of the promise collection Heartfelt.

Cute couple is coloured with prismas and cut out and attached with foam pads.  What else....oh yes the "you're special" is a rub on which was a freebie on a docraft magazine.  Thats it I think, hope it is ok...the rest of the entries and the DT samples are just GORGEOUS!!!  Sorry if the pics are a bit blurry, I took them really early this morning and thought it was just my eyes not awake yet, but no...its my photography!! LOL.  Thanks for looking!!
